Is there a book inside you? Do you have a story to tell?
Are you one of the 85% of avid readers who dream of writing a book?
I recently saw a statistic that 85% of readers dream of publishing their own book. That’s right, 85%! A little over a year ago, I was part of that 85%. I got to make my dream come true and I would love to help you with yours! :o)
As a published author and owner of Choosy Bookworm, I have received many emails with readers asking questions about getting their own books published, such as:
“I want to write a book. I have a story to tell. But, where do I start?”
“I have written my story already. What now?”
“I published a book with little success. What can I do better?”
Why publish a book?
Readers hope to publish their own book one day for various reasons. Here are a few:
• Tell a great, engaging story
• Write a bestselling book (and enjoy the feeling of success)
• Teach something you love and find important (something like cooking, thrifty living, or healthy eating)
• Have a steady flow of extra monthly income
How did I become a published author? Was it difficult?
I will tell you the absolute truth:
It still takes time, effort, and energy. But, it has gotten much easier than it was. :o)
Because of Amazon, and their KDP program, we now have a never-seen-before opportunity of reaching millions of readers instantly.
Being a stay-at-home dad, I was constantly looking for ways to bring in some extra money for my family. I found several ways to do that and it became a dream of mine to share what I had learned with other people who needed that same information but didn’t know where to find it.
I published my first book on December 31, 2013 and my second book in February 2014. In doing that, I found out that publishing your own book isn’t anywhere near as difficult as it used to be.
It has become very easy to publish your book on Amazon and gain access to millions of readers almost instantly. You can put any type of book out there, but you need to make sure that it is a good quality book with an attractive cover. Otherwise, the odds are that your book won’t do well and you may get discouraged from pursuing your dream any further.
Maybe you have a story in you just itching to come out, but maybe you don’t know how to let it out or what to do with it once it’s there.
If you do, why haven’t you written or published that book of yours yet?
Well, the number one reason that most people take so long to follow their dream… fear, plain and simple.
Fear of failure. Fear of wasting time and getting nowhere. Fear of rejection.
The number two reason is: We all have a life.
Most people spend their lives living for everyone else and doing what others expect of them.
Not realizing their dream. Not doing what they truly want to do.
The older that we get, the more we come to realize that we are running out of time to fulfill the dreams that we had when we were younger. We get so busy with normal jobs, taking care of other people, and the stress of everyday life, that we can forget to take care of ourselves. We try to make others dreams come true at the expense of our own.
The problem is that many people never get around to fulfilling their dreams because life gets busy and before you know it that window of opportunity is closed.
Pursuing your Dream
I want to encourage you to pursue your dream and not miss out. And I want to help you see how easy it has become to realize that dream. If you have the desire to publish your own story, now is the best time to start.
When I was writing my first book I had to figure out all of the ins and outs of writing and publishing myself. I had to research on Google and go to many various websites to find out what it was I needed to do.
The hardest things about all of this were:
• The research – finding out what to do, and when to do it
• Gathering information – making sure the info I was reading was current and relevant
• The stress – not getting discouraged in the process.
• The time wasted – with all of the info scattered around the internet, it is so easy to lose hours or even days just trying to find the most current and relevant information.
I did it the hard way and spent about 3 months just researching how to write and publish a book. Because reading so many people’s ideas and inputs became so overwhelming, there were times when I felt like I would never be able to pull it off.
I spent 3 months of my time, effort and energy, scouring the internet, looking for the best resources, learning what I needed to know to make this dream come true.
Think of all of that time wasted doing research that could have been used writing a book during that 3 months period.
Because of this, I decided to try to find out the best way to help new and aspiring authors get started with their dream without wasting all of their time like I did.

Testimonials for Cathy’s course
“Best course ever! Cathy can explain everything related to creating, publishing and promoting ebooks MUCH better than everyone I’ve seen. She covers all angles in this course. Take it, you’ll love it, and will learn SO much.”
“This course goes insanely in depth on how to figure out the correct approach to every aspect of creating and launching your ebook. Can you write a book and upload it with some free online tutorial and without the need for this course? Sure! But with others taking this course, your book doesn’t stand a chance at outselling them.”
